Christina is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of South Carolina. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of South Carolina Beaufort and completed her Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling at The Citadel with a 4.0 GPA. Christina was chosen as the recipient for the J. Patrick Leverett award which identifies the outstanding graduate for The Citadel’s Clinical Counseling program. Christina also has over 25 hours in specialized training for adopted, foster and kinship/guardianship families.
Christina originally began focused on research and has publications in psychology and law, specifically the unreliability of memory and how this impacts eyewitness identifications. While she found this fascinating, Christina realized that she was missing the direct interaction of helping people and made the decision to pursue therapy.
Christina is heavily influenced by cognitive behavioral therapy combined with person centered techniques in order to create a tailored therapy experience. She believes in the power of living in the present moment and overcoming our previous traumas or hardships while also not being fearful of our future. Christina enjoys working with chronic depression, anxiety, grief, transitions, and managing everyday stresses. She believes that every individual knows themselves best and has their own answers; it is her job to help you uncover these and learn to trust yourself.
